THE
NEW YEAR’S NIGHT WATCH
2007/12/31, Monday.
It
was a blessing night, full of joy and anointing, Those who
were present on that day, they real apreciate the night.
"The hall
was full of shouts when NEW Year was Landing and people
were scattered or grouped to celebrate the grace of GOD
..."
It happens
that, It would be a wise thing if other people who were
not present on that night
to get at least a rough picture of what were happening...
and this below is the actual story concerning the God's
night, see your self...
New Assembly Hall (NAH),
Mzumbe University- Tanzania.
The spirit
of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed
Me to preach good tidings to the poor;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD and the day
of vengeance of our GOD; to comfort all who mourn”.
[Isaiah 61: 1,2 ].
Though these
prophetic words of the Messiah, Jesus Christ one could feel
the presence of the Lord a few days before we embarked the
new year 2008. The very similar words in Isaiah were heard
at the USCF Fellowship and empowered an inspiration to receive
the anointing to move with in the year 2008. It is all about
walking with new ambitions to serve in the footsteps of
Jesus Christ, our LORD. Praise the Lord!
When people
talked about abundant grace they meant. Every brethren found
it was a time to meditate why GOD had to let us live and
other die! To mention a few, these were among questions
for searching our souls: Can we breathe? Can we walk? Are
we able to eat? Each of these questions attracted a YES
as we approached the end of the year 2007. Thanks were to
GOD that lungs are working, the legs and feet are well functioning
and there is abundant provision of food from our LORD. It
was full appreciation and gratitude for kindness that has
been shown to us.
The general
atmosphere in the premises of the main campus implied a
need for a time to convene together and utter a praising
prayer to the almighty King. An hour before the agreed time
you walk around the NAH and you find people eager to see
it starting well before the anticipated time. Soon after
the first year (LLB) students finished taking their assessment
test the hall started filling up one minute later.
With grateful
faces, the hall mass responded to song of worshipping, “Wewe
ni Baba, wewe ni Baba yetu”. In this worship no one
could explain or reason why GOD had to let it be that we
had to experience those few hours before 0000 hours of the
New Year. On recognizing the grace we automatically turned
into thanking GOD and praying for his guidance so that we
walk accordingly in the light of the LORD.
“Wewe
ni Ebeneza” was the first praising song to turn the
mass into a grateful joy that revealed the kindness of the
creator. “ Heshima na Utukufu na Sifa vyote ni vyako
Bwana” was also a touching song to meditate on and
through it we thanked and glorified the Lord. It was a series
of touching prayerful songs. Some of the songs insisted
that if man gets the whole world but fails to qualify for
eternal life it is vain.
SIX MINUTES
TO THE NEW YEAR HOUR: “You are the Lord that healeth
me,You are the Lord my healer”……an exciting
night had such a song for worshipping GOD. One could hardly
differentiate one facial expression from another among the
students and villagers from the neighborhood: faces portrayed
a fervent desire to experience a minute in a new year.
Genesis 28:
20, 21…this was the leading part of the holy scriptures
to share. Rev. Adolf Mwakamanyale (CCT Mzumbe University
Chaplaincy) delivered the God’s message from the above
verses. We should be faithful to GOD in our pledges and
we should remember to offer a service of thanks for the
goods we receive from our kind creator: Being faithful as
he [GOD] himself is (Genesis 28: 13).
HAPPY NEW
YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
The hall was
full of shouts and people were scattered or grouped to celebrate
the grace of GOD.
Gasper Muhura,
a form six student at Mzumbe Secondary School said, it is
eve worthy celebrating the reception of the New Year in
the house of LORD. He says if he had gone to worldly mode
of celebration he would be unthankful to GOD and his soul
could not reach the full joy.
Mahanga Hungiro,
a first year student at MU said he couldn’t find precise
words to experience such many people sharing a common service
of celebration. At a university level it was such an enriching
experience for everyone. In everything we should give thanks
back to GOD by first offering our lives to Him and that
is the only way we can prove how thankful we are.
Taking LLB,
Liston Malingumu is a second year student at MU and a church
elder too. He points out, “This year it is different.
Last year we had less powerful music facilities but this
year we are lucky to praise the Lord with the very new music
machines and people are even happier”. Liston says
it is an amazing connection of reality and grace as we gracefully
experience a NEW YEAR 2008!
GOD and his
word are one. What he says in Jeremiah 29: 11 is true. He
always plan good things for us. It is only a duty of human
being to respond accordingly to GOD’S grace.
“Beloved,
I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health,
just as your soul prospers” [3 John 1:2]. May your
soul receive the knowledge of understanding and revelation
in Jesus Christ, our saviour. [Ephesians 1:17]………USCF,
Mzumbe University[MU] wishes you prayerfully a very prosperous
year that you may receive God’s abundant blessings
in all aspects of life in the blessed year 2008!!
